Halloween in Colorado is always fun and there’s never a lack of things to do. It can also be tricky—you never know what to expect from the weather! The historical low on Halloween was in 2002 when the high that day was 19°, but it’s also been near 80° on the day of the ghouls. The Colorado climate keeps us all on our toes! But whether it’s sunny or snowing, there’s never a lack of fun activities!
Family Friendly Fun
Denver in October provides a wide variety of family entertainment. From corn mazes to harvest festivals to hayrides, the list goes on and on! This website has a ton of low-cost ideas that will keep families busy from now until Halloween! Here are some of the most popular types of events:
- Trick or treating: Boo at the Zoo, Trick or Treat Street, Trick or Treat Train
- Music: Halloween Spooktacular, Disney in Concert – Tim Burton’s the Nightmare Before Christmas
- Parades: Boonion Station Kids Halloween Parade & Party, Broadway Halloween Parade
- Other family locales/events: Enchanted Hollows, Colorado’s Coolest Corn Maze, Elitch Gardens Fright Fest, Glow at the Gardens, Pumpkin Nights

For the Not-So-Faint-of-Heart
While some people like to keep Halloween spookiness on the lighter side, some like to be all-out scared! And there is definitely no lack of options around here! Of course, you can always go the traditional route of the haunted house with Denver’s spine-chilling options like City of the Dead & Asylum, The 13th Floor, Reaper’s Hollow, Reinke Brothers Haunted Mansion, and Frightmare Compound. For events that have multiple attractions in one locale, you can check out the Haunted Field of Screams, Paranormal Palace, or Dead Zone Scream Park. Want to show off your zombie make-up skills? The Denver Zombie Crawl is a great place to do that! If you’re looking for something a little more unusual (for a Halloween-oriented event, that is), we’ve got you covered there, too. The Molly Brown House hosts an immersive literary experience called Victorian Horrors. Looking for something more humorous? How about the Halloween Boo-lesque & Comedy Show! There is truly something for everyone!
Halloween at Haselden
What does Team Haselden do during the Halloween season? Crocktoberfest! Crocktoberfest is an event we’ve been doing at the end of October for a couple years now. Team members bring in a crockpot dish to slow-cook all morning, then we meet in the breakroom at lunch to sample everyone’s contributions. Costumes are encouraged, so it’s a fun day all around!
